How To Pray

"I got down on my knees and prayed for light, and light came..."

By Synthia Esther

The idea for a prayer website has long held a place in my heart, for I know prayer works!  Many people may inquire, "How am I suppose to pray?"  As we pray to God we talk to Him as we would a friend, for He is a friend upon whom we can depend.  In turn, God hears and answers our prayers as we live our life for Him, seeking His will in all we pray for.  "For the Lord is far from the wicked, But He hears the prayers of the righteous" - Proverbs 15:29.

In prayer we separate from life's problems in order to be with God and bask in His presence.  Drawing near to Him in prayer communication allows a spiritual connection through personal relationship.  Jesus Christ gave us the example and value of prayer in that he often left the crowds and disciples to be alone with God, the Holy Father.  The Lord's Prayer is a teaching example of how we are to pray in accordance with His will (Luke 11:1-4).

"Synthia Esther Ministries" was founded on the basis of prayer.   Recently going through a personal hardship, burden and health problem, faithful prayer warriors prayed on my behalf.  I knew that a spiritual attack was looming ever near, in order to keep this prayer website from going forward.  Most ministry endeavors ordained by God have at one time or another felt such hindrances sent from the pit of demonic oppression.  New levels attract new devils.  Another words, when you are seeking a higher spiritual purpose and goal, in accordance with God's will, Satan will send vast opposition your way (Daniel 10:13).  Perhaps you too have felt oppressed at one time or another.  Take heart, God sent me a word that I now share you.

THE POWER OF GOD - GIVEN IDEAS

God has a purpose and plan for all of our lives.  A plan to give us a life filled with hope and a future - Jeremiah 29:11.  An annoymous quote about God is true concerning prayer, "If you feel distant from God, remember it isn't God that moved."  So it was in 1824, when Louis Braille, a devoted Christian, invented a system of raised dots on paper, representing the spelling of words so that blind people could read.  He invented 63 symbols representing every language, hence God's word was placed into the hands of the visually impaired for the first time.

Louis Braille's personal story and testimony touched my heart in a very personal way, for I had suddenly gone blind in my right eye in 2009.  My left eye was fine, but fear seemed to overwhelm me at times, that my left eye could end up with this same problem.  I underwent three eye surgeries on my right eye, and praise God my vision was restored in my injured eye by around 65 percent.  You can't even tell I ever had a vision problem or had eye surgery!  God reminded me of the many prayers going up on my behalf, during this urgent time of need.   As the prayers of the righteous availth much.

MOBILE AND INTERNET COMMUNICATIONS

In part, we owe both our communications by mobile phone and computer to a Christian named Samuel Morse.   Now news travels fast, with reports and details for all to read thanks to Mr. Morse.  As the witness story is told, one day a friend said, "Morse, when you were experimenting did you ever come to an absolute deadlock, not knowing what to do?  Morse replied, 'More than once.'  His friend asked, 'What did you do then?'  Morse shared a secret, 'I got down on my knees and prayed for light, and light came, and when my inventions were acknowledge by flattering honours from America and Europe, I said, "Not unto me, O Lord, not unto me, but unto Thy name give glory."  That's why the first message sent by transatlantic cable read, "What God has wrought."

NEVER UNDER ESTIMATE THE POWER OF PRAYER - FOR GOD IS ABLE!

Sight for the blind?  Yes, God can restore your vision.  He can renew your purpose, and proclaim your victory!  For nothing is too difficult for God, our Holy Father.  "And as they were going out from Jericho, a great multitude followed Him.  And behold, two blind man sitting by the road, hearing that Jesus was passing by, cried out, saying, "Lord have mercy on us, Son of David!"  And the multitude sternly told them to be quiet; but they cried out all the more, saying, "Lord, have mercy on us, Son of David!"  And Jesus stopped and called them, and said, "What do you want Me to do for you?"  They said to Him, "Lord, we want our eyes to be opened."  And moved with compassion, Jesus touched their eyes; and immediately they regained their sight and followed Him." - Matthew 20:29-34

"May He vindicate the afflicted of the people, Save the children of the needy, And crush the oppressor.  ...For He will deliver the needy when he cries for help, The afflicted also, and him who has no helper.  He will have compassion on the poor and needy, And the lives of the needy He will save.  He will rescue their life from oppression and violence;  And their blood will be precious in His sight; ...Blessed be the Lord God, the God of Israel, Who alone works wonders.  And blessed by His glorious name forever; And may the whole earth be filled with His glory.  Amen, and Amen." -  Psalms 72:4; 12-14; 18-19.

PSALM 77

1  My voice rises to God, and I will cry aloud;  My voice rises to God, and He will  hear me.

2  In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord; In the night my hand was outstretched out without weariness; My soul refused to be comforted.

3  When I remember God, then I am disturbed; When I sigh, then my spirit grows faint.

4  Thou hast held my eyelids open; I am so troubled that I cannot speak.

5  I have considered the days of old, The years of long ago.

6  I will remember my song in the night; I will mediate with my heart; And my spirit ponders.

7 Will the Lord reject forever?  And will He never be favorable again?

8  Has His lovingkindness ceased forever?  Has His promise come to an end forever?

9  Has God forgotten to be gracious?  Or has He in anger withdrawn His compassion?

10 Then I said, "It is my grief, That the right hand of the Most High has changed."

11 I shall remember the deeds of the Lord; Surely I will remember Thy wonders of old.

12 I will mediate on all Thy work, And muse on Thy deeds.

13 Thy way, O God, is holy; What god is great like our God?

14 Thou art the God who workest wonders; Thou hast made known Thy strength among the peoples.

15 Thou hast by Thy power redeemed Thy people, The sons of Jacob and Joseph.

16 The waters saw Thee, O God; The waters saw Thee, they were in anguish; The deeps also trembled.

17 The clouds poured out water; The skies gave forth a sound; Thy arrows flashed here and there.

18 The sound of Thy thunder was in the whirlwind; The lightnings lit up the world; The earth trembled and shook.

19 Thy way was in the sea, And Thy paths in the mighty waters, And thy footprints may not be known.

20 Thou didst lead Thy people like a flock, By the hand of Moses and Aaron.
